Busy bee

We have been busy in the sun, but now it’s gone I’m online again.  Last week we donated paints and assisted a local Year 6 class in painting a mural for their school – here are a few pics of the process.

speeding bike, all pics were set around an eco theme

fabulous arty ducks and giant snail

the finished wall and the one above of us just to give some
perspective of it's size

I have been neglecting the blog here recently but I am still moonlighting over at Chorley Contemporary Crafters – please go and have a looksee www.chorleycontemporarycrafters.blogspot.com

And last but in no way least I have been adding pages to both blogs and making them all pretty.  More to do with PP&P blog but for now I’m off to shop then think of something fun to do with the kiddies in the holidays before they grow up and wish to be my pal no more!   While I’m away please have a look at the new pages and see what you think.

More Mural Moments

News news news, where to start?  We painted a free mural for a friend's workshop opening see piccies below.

a scuffle to look at the pretty monkeys with our trees in the background

This week I spent my days off happily painting a mural for a baby's room. Feeling more than a little bit chuffed with myself right now, K came along to help me with the finishing off and we are finding we are a very good match when it comes to style and ideas, we compliment each other well leading to a great end result.

We currently have an offer running with our new mural venture have a look at the Petal Murals page at the top of the blog.
Having trouble with uploading the pics etc so saving and signing off now.  Nx

Monkeying Around

I was going to do a slow reveal over several blogs but I'm just too excited.  Here are a few pics of the lovely mural we painted (mostly K) a friends new workshop.  I can now reveal our beautiful mural - in stages of course - for your enjoyment etc etc.  Bear with me I'm not having a particularly eloquent day today.

She's so cute
look closely - here we are.
I love this shot (taken on my phone!) it looks so 3D

The big picture
Next up come the action shots............
Soo obviously just posing at a finished wall. x

We want these ones xx
If nothing else let there always be silliness xxx

That's your lot for now, I shall show you the progress shots next when I get the chance to download from K's phone.  Then next Wednesday we start on another jungle wall in a nursery - no trees planned for that one though.
Watch this space.

We are still offering a discount on the first few mural bookings £60 until we have completed
6 bookings
(normal price of £100 for a mural similar to the one pictured) We are offering our murals to Chorley and surrounding areas so if you are local and would like to have one of our gorgeous paintings adorning one of your rooms, get in touch via our facebook page or the email address attached to this blog.

Naughty Petal

Ok ok so I was being too stingey with the pics here are a couple more shots of our gorgeous wall mural for Monkey's Made with Love.  If you wish to see the whole picture you will still have to visit the studio/workshop TOMORROW....

That's Saturday 25th February 11am- 4pm Monkey's Made with Love Unit 6 in Worden Park, Leyland.

The monkey's of course are also gorgeous and well worth a visit as they settle in to their new home.

STOP THE CLOCK!

We've finished monkeying around (I apologise but I must include at least one pun per post)
In the words of Rolph Harris....... (second thoughts never mind)

The Mural is finished, but of course I'm not going to show you, this extreme close up is all you are getting - if you want to see the full wall come along this Saturday (25th Feb) 11 am - 4 pm.

I went along with K today to the studio to see the progress so far and help do the fun bit - finishing touches. K had worked really hard and had completed the bulk of the work.  I am really proud of it and I feel you will be impressed too, so get your coats on bring some bread for the ducks and call in, it would be lovely to see you there.

One more teaser before I go...
Ok I'm gonna say it: 'can you tell what it is yet?'

An afternoon with Bradley Cooper

REALLY hard to find a good pic,
I think I find actors who are gorgeous but
not photogenic attractive
(Orlando Bloom is another example)
I share the same gene! ;-D
Aha I knew that would get your attention.  Ok so Brad didnt pop round ours for a coffee and a chinwag but I did watch All About Steve have you ever seen that film? It’s fab.  Sandra Bullock is excellent as always and good old Bradley.....yummy.  I love the bit where she accidentally hoicks him from the media scaffolding by his camera cord, laugh out loud funny.  Having said that Thomas Haden Church completely steals the show as the fabulously shallow newsman Hartman Hughes.

Anyhoo!!!!  I decided I would have an afternoon off on Thursday, as I'd completed littlest Petals room that morning, plus I had to be at work by 8am Friday L and on Wednesday I'd cleaned the house top to bottom.  It has been rather neglected since I started painting the wall, when done I felt positively buoyant (when I say buoyant I am of course playing it down, I was more ‘giddy with happiness’.  I know it is so sad that housework can make me feel that good.)  Also on Thursday morning I was walking Lollipop in the park by 9.30am.

So with jobs all done and puppy at my feet (feeling very sorry for herself at the mo), I watched Death at a Funeral (which was better than expected) and then All About Steve.

Enough blather about my week. As promised here are the final piccies – I admit I’m feeling rather proud.
  stepping away now

See the birdies - the lovely www.silvermousey.blogspot.com
picked these up from our craft day out and they work fantastically well
on a bit of fishing line

These are the making fairies, tried to keep it simple but still not keen on the yellow dress,
I would do it differently if I had to do it again,
but I'm rather chuffed with the cotton reels on her knee detail.

/\ reminder to self

I can’t take credit for the face of the tiny fairy on the right
I was inspired by the gorjuss girl (www.gorjuss.co.uk) and Super Cute Tilly
 www.supercutetilly.blogspot.com hope she doesn't mind
I made some single thinkness bunting a while ago
and thought it may as well be seen so it's now blue tacked! to her wall
(this is the sum total of my skills on a sewing maching)
Think the cot Mr Petal made now needs a bit of a touch up,
looking a bit grubby, very talented tho isnt he? and my lovely big sis
made the tiny patchwork quilt and pillow using some shapes
I cut out for mum when I was little. Does this now count as vintage?
My Mum also knitted the little pink blanket. Totally homemade stuff. x

Better get on with the rag rug now.
